Traditional

The practice of yoga is far from a workout. The word Yoga itself comes from the Sanskrit word ‘to unite’. It is a union of practices between body, mind and spirit. Our asana specific classes intentionally combine the 3 elements of movement, pranayama and meditation in order to activate and access deeper states of consciousness to fully receive the power of these practices.

These are traditionally taught as Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga.

  • Hatha +

Hatha yoga seeks to balance the two opposing energies of the sun (ha) and the moon (tha). It is a slower, more deliberate practice that focuses on holding postures and mindful alignment to enhance physical strength and mental clarity.

  • Vinyasa +

Vinyasa is a fluid practice of yoga that links each asana, each pose, by breath. This dance helps attain harmony in the mind and body, moving in accordance with our inhalations and exhalations. The dynamic nature of the flow builds internal heat, which purifies the body, boosts cardiovascular health, and improves overall endurance.

  • Ashtanga +

Ashtanga Yoga is a structured and dynamic form of yoga that synchronises a specific sequence of asanas with breath. This class is perfect for those who appreciate the structure of a repeated sequence, discovering subtle modifications and openings in the body along the way. Minimal cues will be offered to help yogi’s connect to the rhythm of your breath, cultivating a deeper state of being.
